NormaTec 3 Recovery System — Clinician-Led Compression Therapy in Bon Air

The NormaTec 3 Recovery System is a pneumatic/compression device that uses sequential, programmable air compression (sleeves or boots) to improve circulation, reduce fluid build-up, and help reduce muscle soreness and speed recovery when used as part of a clinician-directed recovery or rehab plan.

How NormaTec Works — The Science of Sequential Compression

NormaTec 3 uses dynamic, sequential pneumatic compression (inflatable sleeves/boots with multiple independent chambers) that inflate and deflate in a distal-to-proximal pattern to mimic the body’s natural muscle pump.

Key Components & Action

  • Compression Sleeves & Boots: Attachments for legs, hips, shoulders and arms with segmented chambers.
  • Sequential Compression Technology: Chambers inflate from the farthest point and move toward the heart to augment venous and lymphatic return.
  • Customizable Programs: Adjustable pressure settings and pre-programmed modes for recovery, rehabilitation, or relaxation.

Primary Effects

  • Enhanced Circulation: Helps move blood and lymph, flushing metabolic waste.
  • Reduced Inflammation & Soreness: Supports recovery after intense workouts or injury.

FAQ — NormaTec & Compression Recovery

What does a NormaTec session feel like?

You’ll feel rhythmic pulsing and gentle squeezing as the sleeves inflate; many describe it as a restorative massage. Pressure is adjustable for comfort.

How long is each session?

Typical clinic sessions are 15–30 minutes; clinicians customize based on goals and screening.

Is NormaTec safe if I have diabetes or neuropathy?

Safety depends on vascular status and sensation. We perform ABPI/vascular screening and sensory checks; if you have significant sensory loss or PAD, we may modify or avoid use.

Will NormaTec speed my race recovery?

NormaTec can reduce perceived muscle soreness and assist fluid clearance after intense events; it is most effective when combined with sleep, nutrition and active recovery.
