Nerve Injury

Nerves can be injured by pressure, stretching, or cutting. Injuries which occur from stretching or pressure will typically break the fibers within the nerve which will obstruct the nerve from sending or receiving messages. A nerve injury from stretching or pressure can cause muscle damage and a loss of sensation in the wounded area. A cut nerve will usually severe the insulation and break the fibers. This type of nerve injury can cause the nerve fiber to die or promote the growth of tender nerve scar. Physical therapy can assist you in a successful recovery!
