“ I started attending appointments at Fyzical Physical Therapy Falmouth (Portland location) after the word “BALANCE” which was prominently displayed on their window signage drew me in to inquire about their program. I was particularly concerned about the coming winter and my safety. I have never had good balance and with weakness and instability from lumbar stenosis affecting my glutes, quads, thighs and lower I was hoping that they might be able to help somehow. I had even done some extensive PT a year or two earlier but did not have cumulative positive results. Early in the fall (or should I say autumn) I was going everywhere with a walking stick partly for stability and also due to lack of strength. I really didn’t trust myself to be able to walk even 50 feet on my own. I feel that the program devised by Erin and enhanced and executed by Dory has really focused on my concerns and I am more confident walking and standing and moving in general. I still have to deal with spasms regularly but I also have noticed that often, after several minutes of various exercises, that they spasms will release and I will have more comfort and mobility. Despite the progressive nature of the stenosis I do feel that I have made significant strides in regaining more confidence and mobility. I feel that this focused Fyzical approach has been particularly effective for me. ”

I’m getting old (78) and feeling my aches and pains more acutely (and perhaps more frequently) these days — little things, a blip in my back, my shoulder, my leg muscles; a tiny shift in balance; new and annoying tenderness in a hip, a knee, a wrist. I initially went to Fyzical Therapy for a very specific back pain. Dr. Erin Carroll went right to work and my pain diminished from day one. As I improved, Dr. Carroll asked lots of questions and discussed very clearly my answers as well as her observations. She spoke clearly and reassuringly. She made suggests about my posture and my movement. On top of everything, the office administrator, Cat, makes everything flow smoothly, courteously, and professionally. On a scale of 1 to 5, I give Fyzical Therapy in Northgate Plaza a 10+. ”

Within 3 visits the debilitating symptoms were significantly diminished and now after 8 weeks, I feel almost completely back to normal. I still have to do home PT exercises to train my brain for balance but as I stated this is all do to the excellent care provided by Dr Carroll and her staff. ”
