VNG Balance Testing

At FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers, we are committed to serving our patients with the best technology and resources available. Our VNG (Videonystagmography) testing system allows for a more in-depth look into the vestibular system to find a solution for your balance disorders, dizziness, and vestibular challenges.

What is VNG Testing?

VNG testing is used to assess and analyze the vestibular system and if it is functioning appropriately. A trained member of our team will guide you through a series of tests and assessments focusing on eye movement and vestibular pathways. Ocular Motility and Caloric testing are used to highlight perceived weaknesses in the vestibular system. VNG test results will help guide your medical team as to the best treatment to improve the vestibular deficits and return to your previous level of function.

Balance Disorders and Vertigo

Dizziness, loss of balance, light-headedness are several reasons to consider seeking VNG testing. These detrimental side effects can impede your ability to complete daily tasks. Dizziness and vertigo (experiencing spinning or motion when remaining still) can also lead to increased loss of balance and even falls for older adults. Our Physical Therapists often work hand in hand with our Audiologist in order to train both the motor system and vestibular system in order to decrease the dizziness and feelings of imbalance for return to a safe and active lifestyle.
