Darryl Lopez, BSPT Physical Therapy Director/Owner
Darryl is a Fremont, CA native and a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. He lettered in varsity football and is very active in youth and high school football. He recieved his Bachelor of Science degree from Fresno State University in 1992. Darryl brings 25 plus years of experience in Industrial, Orthopaedic, and Sports Physical Therapy.
His combination of manual therapy techniques and progressive functional rehabilitation offers his clients an effective and quick return to optimal health. In 2015 he added Balance and Vestibular training to the practice. Under his leadership the clinic has become a Level ll Balance center helping patients with balance and vestibular disorders.
Pono Aiona, DC, QME Chiropractic Director/Owner
Pono is a native of Oahu, HI who grew up in both Cupertino, CA and Middletown, NJ. He graduated from Monta Vista High School where he lettered in Football and Wrestling. He attended UC Davis where he played in the 1982 NCAA Division II National Championship Football game. He recieved his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Sacramento State University and continued his education at Palmer Chiropractic College-West where he recieved his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree.
His interest includes treatment of myofascial pain syndromes especially "Tech Neck", lower back pain, and concussion management and treatment. He is Graston Technique Level II certified and a California State appointed Qualified Medical Examiner. He performs WorkSTEPS Functional Capacity Evaluations and post offer/pre-employment tests.
He enjoys time with family, off road motorcycling, Sea Doo riding, and coaching high school football at Milpitas High School 2017 California State 4A Football Champions.
Michelle Nomura, MPT Staff Physical Therapist
Michelle became interested in physical therapy when she was in high school. She sustained a knee injury while playing soccer that required her to attend therapy. She enjoyed how the therapis helped her to regain the range of motion and strength in the leg in order to return to playing soccer.
Michelle graduated with her Masters in Physical Therapy from Fresno State University in 1997. Sha has had the opportunity to work in various settings. She has been working as an outpatient therapist since 2001. She uses various manual therapy techniques including Graston Technique to help restore ranges of mositon, strength, and overall function of her patients. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
She has been married for 20 years and has two beautiful daughters. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Jason Prestosa, DPT Staff Physical Therapist
Born in Hayward, Jason grew up in Union City and graduated from James Logan High School in 2003. He studied at Cal State Hayward (CSU East Bay) where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2009, and eventually earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Fresno State in 2015. Jason has been under the tutelage and guidance of both Darryl Lopez, PT & Pono Aiona, DC since his internship with them in 2008, and is now currently in charge of the internship program at FYZICAL in Fremont.
Jason specializes in the treatment of orthopedic injuries/surgeries along with balance rehabilitation, and utilizes various techniques to help his patients achieve their goals. Jason is a huge advocator for incorporating martial arts and humor into his physical therapy practice, and is very passionate about helping his patients improve their functional mobility and quality of life. In his free time, Jason enjoys watching/playing sports, video games, modifying NERF blasters, and spending time with his family.
Mari Mendizabal, BS, PTA Staff Physical Therapy Assistant
Mari Mendizabal graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology in 2014. She then went on to obtain her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Ohlone College in 2017.
While completing her undergraduate degree, Mari competed on San Francisco State’s soccer team. Her path as a PTA became clear as she witnessed her friends experience career ending injuries. During her PTA program Mari discovered that each patient was their own version of an elite athlete, whether it is a mother getting back to playing with her child or a teenager learning how to walk again after an accident. She has been working with Fyzical since 2017. Mari uses different techniques such as cupping, instrument assist soft tissue mobilization and blood flow restrictive training to increase mobility and strength.
Mari continues to play soccer and other outdoor activities, like quidditch, in her free time.
Cristina Rodriguez General Manager
Cristina brings 20 years of experience in accounts recievables and billing in both retail and healthcare.
Ada Torres WC Billing/Client Care specialist
Ada is a valued member of the FYZICAL Fremont family beginning her career at the young age of 16-years-old. She is married with two beautiful daughters.

Taylor is our private insurance administrator and is working toward her nursing degree.

Athena is a part-time employee who attends Ohlone College.
