Ask a PT: Knee Pain Part 3 - Patellar Tendon Pain

Dr. David Lee shares two sources of patellar tendon pain that could be causing your knee to swell or causing you chronic pain:

1. Tendonitis (aka jumper's knee) - inflammation of the tendon

2. Tendinosis - degeneration or wearing down of the tendon Physical therapy along with a customized treatment plan can help reduce your knee pain.

Treatments for patellar tendon may include:

1. Icing

2. Resting

3. Using a Cho-Pat Strap

4. Eccentric loading of the knee cap
