Meet our Physical Therapists

Dr. Jerry Yarborough, PT, DPT, CEO

I am Dr. Jerry Yarborough. I've been doing physical therapy for 28 years and opened my first outpatient physical therapy clinic 20 years ago in 2002 in Jonesboro, LA.
I opened my 2nd clinic over 7 years ago in 2015 in Ruston, LA where I live with my sweet wife Angela. I opened my 3rd clinic last November 2021 in El Dorado.

I specialize in Vestibular and Balance rehab because in 2008 I had a personal experience with severe balance issues stimulated from an illness. I was destined to the nursing home but decided to trust my God and work really hard. Within a year I had recovered 95%. This experience sparked my interest to buy into the National franchise FYZICAL 6 years ago in 2015 because they too specialized in balance and vestibular programs.

In addition, we are the area of back pain experts, treating thousands of patients each year.

Angela and I have 8 children together. I spent the first half of my life growing up in Fort Worth Tx and moved to Ruston in 1995. I love mission work, especially in Africa and we have a small residential farm where we have goats, chickens, rabbits, dogs, birds, fish, and a cat. I love the Lord, my family, and my communities. It's my passion to impact our region to help people overcome their impairments and to LOVE THEIR LIFE.

Angela Yarborough, Chief Advisor

Hello, my name is Angela Yarborough. I left my nursing career as an RN in 2017 to help my husband, Dr. Jerry Yarborough, build and grow our businesses to a new level. I love being a part of Fyzical. Our business model is so much more than "just getting people living life again". It goes deep into the heart of my life's passion. That passion is to help people truly LOVE the life that they are living. Fyzical enables us to help these people put this into action!

Tara Howington, CFO

Christol Sterling, COO

Hi, my name is Christol Sterling and I am the Office Manager. Prior to coming to work at Fyzical, I served as the Administrative Program Manager at Louisiana Tech University for 7 years and served as the Regional Coordinator for Volunteers of America NELA for over 14 years. I have been working with the Fyzical team for 3 months. A little about me...I am the mother of 2 teenagers who keep me busy. I am a Louisiana Tech Alumni, Go Dawgs! Some of the things I love are Jesus, my family, and serving others. It brings me joy to be able to play a part in helping our patients "Love their Life" here at Fyzical.

Lisa Nelson, Marketing Director

Hi, my name is Lisa Nelson.
I am the Marketing Director.
Prior to coming to work at Fyzical, I served as Cypress Grave as Director of Marketing for 1 & ½ years until they sold the business. I have been at Fyzical for 3 months.
A little about myself:
I am married to my husband, Trey and have 2 beautiful daughters and 5 wonderful grandchildren!
I love spending time traveling with my husband and family.
What I love most about working at Fyzical is interacting with doctors and their staff members in all our markets and seeing the excellent care provided to patients in our clinics. Also I love how Fyzical has a family atmosphere and how everyone works as a team to be our best.

Matthew Chang, PT

Hi, my name is Matthew Chang I am a Physical Therapist Prior to coming to work at Fyzical, I served as Physical Therapist in Houston Texas for 1 year. I have been working with the Fyzical team for 3 months. A little about myself: I enjoy fishing, cooking and being outdoors. I love spending time with my family and friends. What I love most about working at Fyzical is my colleagues working towards the same goal of getting our patients better.

 

Garrett Meyers, Rehab Tech

Hi, my name is Garrett Myers.

I am a Physical therapist technician

Prior to coming to work at Fyzical, I served as a Physical Therapist Technician for NELA

Rehabilitation for 1 year 3 months as well as a Physical Therapist Technician for Dan Wood Physical Therapy for 9 months.

I have been working with the Fyzical team for 1 year 2 months

A little about myself:

I am currently in PT school to receive my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and set to graduate in 2026. My family consists of my wife and 2 kids.

Shae Hicks, Rehab Tech

I am a Rehab Tech at Fyzical. Prior to coming to work at Fyzical, I served as a graduate assistant teaching exercise physiology labs for 8 months. A little about myself: I am 25 years old, a graduate from ULM with a bachelor's in Kinesiology. I love spending time reading, journaling, cooking, working out, hanging out with my friends, and playing with my dog. What I love about Fyzical is that Fyzical is different from other physical therapy clinics because the focus on rehabilitation, such as balance.

Sara Stacy, Rehab Tech

I am a Rehab Tech at Fyzical. Prior to coming to work at Fyzical, I served as a physical therapy rehab tech for 2 years.
A little about myself: I am from Monroe, but moved to Lafayette for 4 years to complete my undergrad degree in Kinesiology. I love festivals, halloween, hot dogs, concerts, sports, animals, spending time with my family, and going on walks with friends.
What I love about Fyzical is how kind, hard working, and accommodating everyone is.

Matthew Gardner, OT

Hi my name is Matthew Gardner, I am an Occupational Therapist at Fyzical. Prior to coming to work at Fyzical, I served as an Occupational Therapist at Alpine Nursing and Rehab for 5 years, Landmark Nursing and Rehab for 5 years, and Professional Home Therapy (Home Health) for 5 years. I have been working for the Fyzical team for 8 months. I am married and have two daughters. I enjoy hunting, fishing, exercising, and playing sports with my daughters. I love to travel with my family and friends.
What I love about working at Fyzical is helping patients regain function and return to doing the things they enjoy doing.

Jamie Griffin, PTA

My name is Jamie Griffin, I am a Physical Therapist Assistant. Prior to coming to work at Fyzical, I served as Rehab Director for 5 years. I have been with Fyzical for 4 months. I am a single father to a 16 year old daughter. I love spending time with family, going to movies and watching sports. What I love most about working at Fyzical is the family atmosphere, learning opportunities, and growth.

Alexius Armstrong, Rehab Tech

I am a Rehab Technician. Prior to coming to work at Fyzical, I served as an Online Grocery Pickup Associate for 2 years

A little about myself:
I am the fourth oldest of a family of six. I was born in Ruston Louisiana and raised in Junction City Arkansas. I am a Southern Arkansas University Alumni. I graduated in 2022 with a BS in Exercise Science. I am currently pursuing an associates degree in PTA.
I love spending time with my friends and family.
