Pediatric Pelvic Health
Pediatric Pelvic Health
Because potty problems, belly aches, and bathroom battles aren’t just “phases” — they’re treatable.
💧 Pediatric Pelvic Health at FYZICAL Rockrimmon
Our team makes pelvic health therapy comfortable, normal, and even fun for kids. We help them (and you!) understand what’s going on, build confidence, and take back control — one success at a time. 🌈You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.
🚽 BLADDER HEALTH
Accidents happen… but they shouldn’t happen all the time.
We help kids who struggle with frequent accidents, urgency, bedwetting, or “just didn’t make it” moments — with gentle, private, and kid-friendly techniques.
Common concerns: Daytime leaks, bedwetting (enuresis), urinary frequency, post-UTI urgency, holding behaviors.
🩵 Less stress. Fewer messes. More confidence.
💩 BOWEL HEALTH
When tummies hurt or trips to the bathroom cause tears, we’re here to help.
Our therapists work with kids to retrain bowel habits, improve digestion, and teach them how to listen to their body’s cues again — without shame or frustration.
Common concerns: Constipation, stool withholding, encopresis, pain with bowel movements, toilet anxiety.
🍎 Because nobody should be afraid of the bathroom.
🦋 PELVIC FLOOR STRENGTH & RELAXATION
Even little bodies can experience pelvic floor tension or weakness that affects how they pee, poop, or move.
Through gentle exercises, breathing work, and body awareness, we help restore strength and relaxation where it matters most.
Common concerns: Pelvic floor dysfunction, leakage, post-surgical recovery, chronic pelvic pain.
💪 Small muscles. Big difference.
🧸 TOILET TRAINING & SUPPORT
For kids who are “almost there” but can’t quite cross the finish line — or for families who’ve tried everything — we provide a calm, professional approach to mastering toilet independence.
No shame. No power struggles. Just teamwork and progress.
Common concerns: Delayed toilet training, fear of the toilet, regression after illness or stress.
🌟 Turning ‘oops’ moments into victory dances.
🧠 BEHAVIOR, SENSORY & EMOTIONAL CONNECTIONS
Sometimes the bladder and bowel story is more than just physical.
We work closely with parents and providers to support kids who have sensory sensitivities, anxiety, or developmental delays that affect pelvic health.
Common concerns: Sensory processing disorder, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety around toileting, attention challenges.
🫶 Because it’s all connected — body, brain, and bravery.
👩👧 PARENT EDUCATION & HOME SUCCESS PLANS
We believe progress happens fastest when parents are empowered.
We’ll guide you through simple home strategies, easy-to-follow routines, and ways to keep your child’s confidence growing long after therapy ends.
📘 Helping parents help their heroes — one flush at a time.
No, there will not be any internal exams!
At FYZICAL Rockrimmon, our pediatric pelvic therapists are expertly trained in your kiddo's pelvic floor musculature and DO NOT need to perform internal exams in order to help. Instead, you and your child will be taught how to train these muscles to perform as intended, using kid-friendly techniques and cutting edge tech. Our therapists also recognize the sensitivity of this area of the body, going only at the pace at which your child is comfortable. Our therapists look at the social, emotional, and sensory aspects of the pelvic floor challenges as well, to help children and teens manage these delicate issues from a whole-person perspective.
Dual Channel Bio Feedback
Biofeedback is a non-invasive technique that helps children learn to control their pelvic floor muscles, which are responsible for bladder and bowel function. Believe it or not...we utilize video games! Small sticky sensors are placed on the hips, tummy, or buttocks to measure electrical activity of the pelvic floor muscles. These stickers can even be placed by mom or dad. The computer then translates this data into visual and audio clues that can be seen and heard, training your child on what these muscles are and how to use them differently. With practice, the child can then learn to use these muscles appropriately all the time.
As many as 1 in 7 school-aged children will struggle with pelvic floor dysfunction presented as incontinence. Many of these children will go on to suffer with bladder and bowel management into adulthood if it isn’t properly treated. The cause of pediatric incontinence is often times related to lack of strength or coordination of the muscles that make up the pelvic floor. Pelvic floor dysfunction can also present as leaking urine or feces, constipation, changes in voiding frequency, or a combination of these symptoms.
