Greetings

Welcome to the March newsletter from FYZICAL Rockville.

  CLINC UPDATES

    • March is Brain Injury Awareness Month!

Brain Injury Awareness Month has been recognized for over 30 years. It is supported and promoted by most of the major health organizations in the country.

The aim of the campaign is to educate people about the effects that living with a brain injury can have on the injured and their families and to raise funds to assist with support for those people affected.

#ChangeYourMind conducted by the Brain Injury Association of America lends itself to outreach within the brain injury community to de-stigmatize the injury, empower those who have survived, and promote the types of support that are available.

Follow FYZICAL Rockville on Facebook and Instagram to help us spread messages during March and beyond.

    • As of late October 2020, FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers of Rockville is now participating with CareFirst Health Insurance preferred provider plans. Our patients and their treatment needs are our first priority, and participating with CareFirst (PPO plans) helps us do this more effectively.  If you have been a patient with us and had CareFirst insurance, your previous care here used your out-of-network benefits. We know that you had many options at that time and we appreciate your trust in us. Any future care that you might need will most likely be covered under your in-network benefits resulting in less cost to you.

    • Check out our latest blog and video on Vestibular and Balance Patient Services. Dr. Ashley Casem, PT, DPT, is the FYZICAL Therapy, Balance and Wellness Centers of Rockville vestibular specialist and has a true passion for treating vertigo and balance disorders. She discusses the types of vestibular and balance diagnoses that we currently treat, equipment and technology that we use and some examples of treatments for vestibular disorders.

Enjoy Basketball

Basketball is a popular, fast-paced, contact sport, although due to several lockdowns in most countries, it is best to enjoy those hoops with those in your own household. Some players make it seem like they glide through the air with the ball, but those who are not careful can easily become injured.

The wrists and ankles are especially prone to injury due to the repetitive nature of this sport, emphasizing the importance of preparing your body for the physical demands of this game.
