Happy Holidays! We hope you and your loved ones are having a great holiday season. This month, we're sharing health tips for the new year, a patient testimonial, the connection between arthritis and winter weather, and some tasty, seasonal recipes!

3 Health Tips for the New Year

With the new year right around the corner, most of us are busy getting ready for the holidays, which may mean we're putting our health on the back-burner. Implement the below tips into your lifestyle to help kickstart the new year!

Grocery shop well. It is important to have healthy, convenient snacks and meals on hand. Having healthy food handy will help increase the likelihood that you and your family will eat them. Focus on eating 3 to 5 servings of vegetables each day and cutting down on processed foods where you can.

Plan your exercise sessions ahead. Set up an attainable goal for how many times you want to exercise each week. A good rule of thumb is typically 3 days per week. Schedule your exercise sessions in advance and the exact workouts you plan to complete in each session. Having a plan prepared of what you'll be doing will help motivate you to stick to your plan!

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Purchase a reusable water bottle which easily fits into your bags. Make an effort to bring your water bottle with you at all times. This will help you to create a habit of always grabbing your water bottle when you are leaving the house. The standard recommendation is to drink a total of 8, 8-ounce glasses of water each day.

It's time to focus on you and your health this holiday season!
