Make Your Health a Priority This New Year!

It's the beginning of a brand-new year, which means it's the perfect time to focus on improving and retuning your skills. You may have already made some New Year’s resolutions to improve your life and reach your goals. Physical therapy (PT) can help you take your health, wellness and fitness goals to the next level and get you back to the activities you enjoy.

If you have been suffering from any physical limitations or injuries, now is the time to act and seek help from a physical therapist. With their expertise and guidance, your physical therapist will design a personalized treatment plan to help you reach your goals, whether that is getting back to doing what you love or even taking your wellness to the next level. This year, invest in yourself and prioritize your health and well-being with the help of physical therapy. PT may be able to help you in ways that you have never imagined, and your future self will thank you for it. Make this year the one where you truly take charge of your physical health and reach new heights in your movement abilities.

Build Healthy Habits

This New Years, one of your resolutions may be to build a new healthy habit. The tips below can help you enact this change in a way that will be sustainable for you to maintain all year long.

  • Develop a plan. Make an action plan for your healthy habit. Begin by figuring out which long-term goal you want to reach with this change. Make sure your habit is SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound!)
  • Be accountable. By tracking the progress of your new habit, you'll be much more likely to accomplish it. Utilize an app, diary, notebook, or spreadsheet to track your progress. Get support from friends and family to help keep you accountable.
  • Acknowledge your success. Reward yourself for each accomplishment that leads you closer to your goals.

Hear From our Patients

" I would highly recommend FYZICAL because the staff is extremely knowledgeable and caring. The team helped me progress to recovery quicker than expected. They listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. I received physical therapy due to a partial knee replacement. Before physical therapy, I felt very sore and was mentally frustrated and worried. Since physical therapy, I am feeling physically stronger and more flexible, and mentally happier and relaxed. "

Healthy Recipes

Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Overnight Oats

These overnight oats re-create the flavors of a popular candy. The chocolate is used in two ways—stirred into the oats, and melted on top to mimic the shell of the peanut butter cup. Flaky sea salt on top balances the sweetness. We use crunchy peanut butter, but creamy peanut butter, almond butter or sunflower butter would work just as well.

Spinach & Parmesan Chicken Noodle Soup

Wine and garlic add depth to this quick and simple chicken noodle soup. The pasta will absorb broth as the soup sits, so if you want to make a double batch or are planning on eating this over multiple days, cook the pasta separately and add it when you’re ready to serve.
