4 Patient Types S/P COVID-19
FYZICAL has Developed an S/P COVID-19 Patient Care Guide to Support Our Clinicians
FYZICAL recognizes that many patients are suffering physically and emotionally due to COVID-19. Some of these effects are directly due to COVID-19, while others are suffered indirectly due to decreased activity. Regardless, FYZICAL has identified 4 patient presentations that would benefit from Physical Therapy to improve physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Hospitalized: These individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 were hospitalized and required mechanical ventilation. They are most severe.
- Diagnosed: These individuals tested positive for COVID-19; however, they were not of a severity level requiring hospitalization or mechanical ventilation.
- At-Risk: These individuals did not test positive for COVID-19; however, they exhibited signs and symptoms and suffered similar respiratory impacts.
- Deconditioned: These individuals did not have signs or symptoms of COVID- 19; however, isolation and decreased activity levels led to functional loss, and are now at increased risk of falling.
FYZICAL is prepared to treat patients with pulmonary symptoms, increased risk of falling, and generalized weakness and deconditioning whether directly or indirectly due to the effects of COVID-19.
