Hanson has served as an instructor in various educational settings, and on the Governor’s Council for Health Promotion and Physical Fitness.
All physical therapists are not the same. Her background is different, her approach is different. Because of her vast training, she can work on joints, the spine, soft tissue, and your mind-body connection. She is the only physical therapist on the east side of the Twin Cities who combines all these approaches (MPS, AAT, PRRT, Manual Therapy, Pilates), along with the patience to experiment until she finds what works for you.
“My philosophy, when evaluating a patient,” says Jan, “is that you have to look under every rock, and experience matters. You see things and put them in perspective with everything you’ve seen for 40 years, and you know when something is unusual.
“People need what they need, based on what is happening to their body at the moment. You can’t just give someone an exercise to do, send them home with instructions, and expect that it will work. As therapists, we need to provide care that helps you be ready to exercise - then it is important to guide you as your function improves."
