Pediatric Occupational Therapy

FYZICAL of Southpoint provides pediatric occupational therapy for residents of Chapel Hill and Durham.

Our Pediatric Occupational Therapist, Melissa, can identify and treat difficulties that interfere with a child’s ability to perform functional daily living skills, academic skills, and peer activities.

The evaluation consists of a parent interview, standardized testing, informal assessment, observations, and play-based interaction to determine the child’s current fine motor, visual perceptual, oral motor, ocular motor, and sensorimotor abilities. Treatment sessions are individualized and focus on improving motor skills, coordination, body awareness, sensory processing skills, coping strategies, attention/focus, feeding skills, emotional regulation, executive functioning, and self-help skills.
