Chronic Back Pain

Low back pain is very common. Most people experience it at least once in their lifetime. For many, the pain is temporary, but back pain can become long-lasting (chronic) if a person has poor posture and/or body mechanics, unstable core muscles, walking (gait) issues, or stress and/or depression.

Low back pain can happen anywhere below the ribs and above the legs. The lower back bears most of the body’s weight. Therefore, there can be many causes for pain such as injury, aging, pregnancy, herniated disc, compression fractures, joint issues, illness, genetic spine issues, and overuse.

Our physical therapist, Dr. Gene Lopez DPT, once suffered from back pain due to a sports injury. He brings firsthand experience as someone who has both undergone treatment and provided treatment. He can honestly say that he understands our patients' pain as demonstrated by their comments on our testimonial page.
