Custom Orthotics

If you have foot pain, swelling, malformations, or balance issues, you may benefit from custom orthotics. Custom orthotics are uniquely made for your feet to help relieve pain or discomfort, improve balance and gait, and prevent future injury.

The physical therapists at FYZICAL can help determine if custom orthotics may be beneficial for you.

What Are Custom Orthotics?

Custom orthotics are customized supportive devices that are placed in your shoes to help restore the proper alignment and functioning of your feet. Custom orthotics are a noninvasive and effective way to improve your foot health. Custom orthotics are made from different materials, including plastic, carbon fiber, leather, foam, rubber, or cork, depending on your individual needs and preferences.

There are two types of custom orthotics:
  • Functional orthotics —focus on helping you regain normal alignment of the bones in your feet when weight-bearing. These orthotics are typically made of semi-rigid or rigid materials, such as plastic or carbon fiber.
  • Accommodative orthotics —focus on relieving stress on inflexible or firm feet. These orthotics are typically made of softer materials, such as cork, leather, foam, and rubber.

Benefits of Custom Orthotics

Custom orthotics help to reduce pain, inflammation, and pressure on your feet. They can correct foot abnormalities, improve foot functioning, relieve pain, and prevent further injury. They also help to improve your balance, posture, and gait, allowing you to feel more comfortable and confident.

At FYZICAL, we use the latest technology to create orthotics that are specifically tailored to your needs and preferences, taking your gait, foot structure, and any conditions that you may have into account. Call us today to learn more about our custom orthotics services.
