Know your balance FACTS

1/3 of adults over the age of 65 experience a fall at least once

Not only are falls one of the leading cause of deaths in the elderly, they also can lead to many other issues including fractures, lacerations, or head trauma. If you have had a fall happen once, it’s time to take action. This is because if you have fallen even once, you are at more risk for another fall.

Many people aren’t aware their balance is bad

Falling isn’t the only result of having bad balance. Bad balance can also lead to fatigue and general lack of interest in independent living. A person’s lack of interest can have tremendous effect on them not only physically, but also mentally. If you are struggling with balance issues, it’s important to seek treatment and avoid other possible side effects by contacting your local balance center such as Michigan Fyzical.
