Our Physical Therapy Team

We Work Together To Play, Have Fun, Design And Create

Beyond the degree and licensing required by law, we certify our physical therapist to meet the highest standards in the industry. Only then can they provide you with service. A care requirement for all our therapists is a loving, caring, and helpful personality and an individual ready to help you meet your goals.

At FYZICAL Prairieville, you'll experience an individualized, supportive approach to physical therapy. One that uses hands on techniques and tailor-made treatment plans delivered by expertly trained and licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants who work with you one-on-one during your therapy sessions. We not only practice physical therapy but we live and breathe it, which results in higher patient satisfaction.

Dr. Jerry Yarborough, Pt, DPT, CEO

I am Dr. Jerry Yarborough. I've been doing physical therapy for 28 years and opened my first outpatient physical therapy clinic 20 years ago in 2002 in Jonesboro, LA.
I opened my 2nd clinic over 7 years ago in 2015 in Ruston, LA where I live with my sweet wife Angela. I opened my 3rd clinic last November 2021 in El Dorado.

I specialize in Vestibular and Balance rehab because in 2008 I had a personal experience with severe balance issues stimulated from an illness. I was destined to the nursing home but decided to trust my God and work really hard. Within a year I had recovered 95%. This experience sparked my interest to buy into the National franchise FYZICAL 6 years ago in 2015 because they too specialized in balance and vestibular programs.

In addition, we are the area of back pain experts, treating thousands of patients each year.

Angela and I have 8 children together. I spent the first half of my life growing up in Fort Worth Tx and moved to Ruston in 1995. I love mission work, especially in Africa and we have a small residential farm where we have goats, chickens, rabbits, dogs, birds, fish, and a cat. I love the Lord, my family, and my communities. It's my passion to impact our region to help people overcome their impairments and to LOVE THEIR LIFE.

Kayla Blackwell, PT, Clinical Director

Kayla Blackwell, BS, PT is a 1994 graduate from LSU Medical Center in New Orleans. She was motivated to become a physical therapist after her grandfather suffered a stroke, leaving him paralyzed on his right side. "The impacts the therapists made on my family made a huge difference in our ability to care for him and maximize his function within the constraints of his new limitations. I knew then and there I wanted to be part of a profession that would have personal interactions with patients and their families to make a difference in their lives."

Kayla has worked in various settings, including outpatient, nursing homes, and an extensive time in home health. She has developed a focus in geriatric orthopedics and neurology with an emphasis on balance, fall prevention, and vestibular training. She gains tremendous satisfaction from seeing her patients improve and regain lost abilities, as well as learn adaptations to limitations in order to move forward with confidence in their everyday lives.

Her hobbies include her love of plants, sunsets, family that includes her two children Kate and Brady, traveling, exercising, and time spent with friends.

Sarah Geter, PTA, Physical Therapist Assistant

Sarah Geter, PTA, became passionate about the field of Physical Therapy during her high school years after witnessing her dad and grandparents rehabilitate from total knee replacements, back surgery, strokes, and Parkinson’s. She has been a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) since graduating from Our Lady of the Lake College in 2009 and has experience in a wide variety of PT settings including outpatient clinics, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, and home health. Sarah has a special interest in helping patients with fall prevention, balance and gait training, and vestibular disorders.

She is a native of Baton Rouge and currently lives in Prairieville with her husband and 3 children. When she is not in the clinic, Sarah enjoys vacationing in the Smoky Mountains, hiking, walking along the beach, being involved with her church, and staying active with her family.
