Kylie Embry, cEP
Kylie joined FYZICAL at the age of 16 after having a dance-related injury. She came to FYZICAL seeking the best care through dance medicine specialist, Ruth Scott, President/PT. At the age of 18, Kylie began working at the Vermillion facility as a Client Care Specialist while she attended undergrad at the University of South Dakota where she earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, with a dance minor.
Kylie is a certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine. She also has a variety of other certifications such as Tai Ji Quan: Moving For Better Balance Instruction, Stotts Total Barre Instruction, Kinesology taping certified through RockTape, and a certificate qualitfying her as an American Physical Therapy Association Certified Practice Administrator.
Kylie believes in making every person strong enough, both physically and mentally, to continue engaging in their passion. She finds happiness in allowing her clients to learn what is necessary to take care of their body and mind, so they can help themselves.
"One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to work with clients on their personal goals. I love working with dancers on performance enhancement and injury prevention, and being able to watch them perform and compete at a higher level than they were before. Kylie enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching local dance performances and competitions, and trying new fitness classes!
Abbey Clayton, PTA
Abbey attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE where she majored in Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education and Human Sciences. While in Lincoln, she was an intern at the Madonna Proactive Medical Center and choreographer for Norfolk High School dance team.
She then attended Clarkson College in Omaha, NE where she earned her physical therapist assistant associates degree. Abbey has since received continuing education in Energy Field Tapping (EFT), Vestibular Therapy, and Pelvic Health. Abbey loves being able to help individuals achieve their functional goals and getting them back to the activities they love.
As a former competitive dancer, Abbey has a keen interest in working with high-level dancers and helping them grow their potential.

In her spare time, Abbey enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being physically active, and traveling to new cities.
Heather Vroom, PT, DPT
Heather, DPT, attended Dordt College for her undergraduate studies where she earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science with minors in piano performance and psychology. She attended physical therapy school at Creighton Univeristy. Heather loves the variety of patients she gets to work with and enjoys problem solving. It is very rewarding for her to see patients come back into the clinic feeling and moving better!
Heather has attended many continuing education courses including pediatric and adult vestibular rehabilitation, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, osteoporosis, movement analysis for enhanced performance and injury prevention, as well as rehabilitation post-CVA.
"I use a variety of hands-on and exercise-based interventions to build an individualized treatment plan for each patient. I think patient education is an important part of recovery, and I want my patients to understand what we are doing and why." -Heather
Heather loves food and cookbooks, spending time outside, home design, playing violin and piano, plants, and being a mom to 2 little boys and a girl (coming soon!).
Jennifer Lauffman, PT, tDPT, ATC
Jennifer, tDPT, ATC is a physical therapist and clinic manager at the Beresford facility. She has been part of the FYZICAL since 2010. She attended Mount Marty College for her undergraduate studies where she earned a BA in Athletic Training and Biology. She then attended physical therapy school at the University of South Dakota.
Jennifer has earned certifications including: Functional Dry Needling, Vestibular Senior Balance Retrainer, Transforming Aging, Running Kinematics and Gait Analysis, Manipulative Management of Lumbar Spine, SDATA Annual Meeting ImPACT Workshop, and Kinesiology Taping. She loves to work with a variety of patients, diagnoses, and treatments.

Jennifer is a people's person! In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog. She loves to spend her time walking her dog, listening to music, and traveling.
Leah Fulker, PT, DPT
Leah, DPT, attended The University of South Dakota for her undergraduate studies where she received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Mathematics in 2008. She then attended physical therapy school at The University of South Dakota graduating in 2012. Leah loves getting to know new patients, learning about their lives and their stories, and being a part of getting them back to the activities they love.
Leah has taken multiple continuing education courses including: Women’s Health, Kinesiology taping, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Dry Needling, treating and managing difficult shoulders, cervical spine and whiplash, lumbopelvic treatments, treatment and evaluation of TMJ, and dizziness and balance training.

Leah has two little boys that are very rambunctious, busy, and a lot of fun! She loves to spend time with her family and burn off some of that energy so they sleep well at night!
Zoe Pease, PTA
Zoe, PTA, attended Western Iowa Tech where she earned her credentials and became a PTA. Zoe believes in treating patients holistically, and empowering the individual through a dialogue fueled by continuing education.
Zoe has many interests and hobbies that keep her busy including sewing, knitting, listening to podcasts, growing plants, hiking, running, healthy cooking, and spending time with my giant family.
"My favorite thing about being a PTA is the opportunity for collaboration. Collaboration with my supervising PT and the patient to determine the most effective treatment and education for the individual's needs.
