Hello!
We hope this message finds you in good health.
More than one in four older adults fall annually but falls affect us all – from our loved ones to caregivers, falls impact us physically, emotionally, and mentally.
FYZICAL joins thousands of healthcare providers, partnering with the National Council on Aging (NCOA) & the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for Fall Awareness month this September. It’s important to know that some falls are preventable. Here are some tips that you, or a loved one, can take to prevent future falls:
- Get an Annual Fall Risk Screening and discuss your fall history
- Have your hearing and vision tested
- Utilize an assistive device if you need help feeling steady when upright
- Wear non-skid, supportive footwear
- Continue to stay physically active
- Utilize resource partners like the NCOA or CDC
With prevention top of mind, we are offering Free Fall Risk Screenings, Friday, September 30th, from 10am-1pm and Saturday, October 1st from 10am-1pm, to our patients and the broader community to help determine if you or a loved one is at risk for falling.
If you would like more information about our free screenings or you’d like to schedule a screening, please call 651-501-2010 or email Jan.Hanson@fyzical.com with the day and time that would work best for you and we will get back to you with a confirmation.
Thank you for helping us “Fight the Fall!”
