FYZICAL's adult Speech-Language Pathologists provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for a variety of speech, language, neurological disorders and other elective services. Our therapy provides a focus on independence and function communication skills. Therapy is individualized to each patient’s unique communication or swallowing needs and include:
Speech Disorders
- Apraxia of speech (uncoordinated movements of body parts used to create sounds, trouble sequencing sounds together
- Dysarthria (slurred speech and weak facial muscles)
- Stuttering
Voice Disorders
- Variety of vocal fold dysfunctions (polyps, nodules, vocal fold paralysis, dysphonia)
- Transgender voice therapy (considered an elective service)
Language Disorders
- Aphasia
- Expressive forms (ability to communicate expressively)
- Receptive forms (ability to comprehend language)
Medical/Cognitive Conditions
- Dementia (memory strategies and activities of daily living)
- Laryngeal/oral cancer (compensatory strategies for communication)
- Right Hemisphere Brain Injury
- Traumatic Brain Injury
