  • National Falls Prevention Awareness Month.  Falls are the leading cause of injury-related deaths in adults 65 and older, and one in four older adults falls each year in the U.S. Yet, many of these falls are linked to undiagnosed balance or vestibular issues that can be identified—and treated—early. Unfortunately, vestibular dysfunction often goes unrecognized.  Throughout National Falls Prevention Awareness Month, FYZICAL clinics nationwide will join forces with the Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) to host Fight the Fall events that spotlight the connection between vestibular health and fall risk. At FYZICAL Shavano Park we will be conducting free fall risk screenings on Friday afternoons.  Learn about proactive steps that can prevent falls before they happen.
