Bruce Meert Physical Therapist PT
Bruce came to Naples in 1973 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University in California. He has studied under Dr. Janet Travell and John Upledger. His desire to create a center where patients could receive quality care led the way to him opening Medical & Sports Rehabilitation Center in 1977, now FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers. Bruce has over 40 years of clinical experience in the physical therapy field. His primary interest is treating neck and back injuries and has been trained in advanced techniques to rebalance the pelvis, sacrum, and spine. Bruce’s vast experience allows him to utilize cranio-fascial techniques to address muscle problems and for the treatment of damaged tissue. Bruce is also one of a few certified ASTYM providers in Florida. He has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) since 1971 and a member of the National Association of Rehabilitation Providers and Agencies (NARA) since 1978.
Tim Byers Occupational Therapist, Certified Hand Therapist OT, CHT
Tim is a University of Texas HSC graduate with a Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy. He is a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) with over 20 years experience in hand rehabilitation. Tim has directed or worked as a senior hand therapist in various clinics in the Midwest and Florida. He was an adjunct faculty member for the occupational therapy program at the University of Southern Indiana. His areas of interest include running, hockey, biking, physical fitness, industrial rehabilitation, autism and sports medicine with an emphasis on upper extremity sports.
Bonnie Mass Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant COTA
Bonnie graduated from Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, Wisconsin with her Associates Degree in Applied Arts-Occupational Therapy Assistant. She brings 20 years of extensive experience in the field of Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation to our team. She also has 15 years of experience working directly with a Certified Hand Surgeon. Yearly continuing education courses have assisted her in specializing in static/dynamic splinting, myofascial release/soft tissue mobilization, Kinesio taping, electrical modalities, wound care, treatment protocols, body mechanics, and ergonomic training.
