Telehealth

Our goals for your telehealth physical therapy session are the same as any other in-person appointment at FYZICAL Rockrimmon.

Why Telehealth?

Our patient-centered Telehealth program focuses on outcomes for individuals who might have a compromised immune system, cannot travel, or need a convenient home-based appointment.

Telehealth is very similar to the therapy you normally receive, except that you can enjoy the session from the comfort of your own home, in your office, or while traveling.

What Can a Physical Therapist Treat During a Telehealth Session?

A physical therapist treating through Telehealth is bound only by their creativity and the creativity of their patient. Certainly, the equipment available to a physical therapist in the clinic setting may not be readily available in a patient's home or office setting. In this case, we may lose some efficiency for the sake of convenience, but that doesn't mean that a patient cannot be treated much like they complete their home exercise program. FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers can ship equipment to our patients at a minimal cost.

Will My Insurance Cover A Telehealth Appointment?

Until we verify your insurance benefits, we can't be certain. The great news is that we at FYZICAL Rockrimmon are happy to verify for you if your insurance will cover all or a portion of your sessions. We provide this service to you at no charge.

If your insurance carrier does not offer Telehealth benefits, that doesn't mean we cannot serve you. You can speak with your insurance provider to see if Telehealth can be added. We are also happy to talk with you about alternative options. Telehealth physical therapy also may be covered under Direct Access laws of the state in which you live

Is It Effective?

Advances in Telehealth Physical Therapy allows us at FYZICAL Rockrimmon to deliver safe and effective methods of treating pain, dizziness, even musculoskeletal dysfunction. Telehealth PT has recently been shown to provide very similar results diagnostically to those results observed in the standard outpatient clinical setting for those who have suffered a stroke.

In cases where patients need a very hands-on approach we recommend our patients consider our hybrid telehealth physical therapy services that include occasional in-person visits to our clinic.

What Conditions are Commonly Treated through a Telehealth Session?

We can successfully treat a variety of common conditions including neck and back pain, dizziness, fall prevention, and incontinence.

If your Physical Therapist is unable to identify the cause of your condition, the staff at FYZICAL Rockrimmon may offer you our Telehealth Physical Therapy Hybrid program.

Does Telehealth Physical Therapy Still Apply To Me If I Live In A Different Area?

This is a question we can only answer after having more information about you. Our providers must abide by both local laws as well as those related to physical therapy in the state in which you reside. Some states participate in the Physical Therapy Compact, which makes it easier for our providers to deliver care across state lines when necessary.

Do I Need To Fill Out Paperwork For My Telehealth Session?

A Telehealth Physical Therapy session is similar to traditional outpatient physical therapy appointments when it comes to paperwork. We will still need to know your medical history, the reason for your session, and your overall goal for your physical therapy.
