What Our Clients Say
What is Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle hands-on treatment that uses light touch to manipulate the body's craniosacral system, which surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord. The goal of CST is to improve the craniosacral rhythm and decrease fascial tension, both of which can contribute to pain, dysfunction, and stress in the body.
What is Craniosacral Rhythm and Fascial Tension?
Craniosacral rhythm is the gentle pulse of spinal fluid that moves around the brain and spinal cord. This rhythm can be assessed by trained practitioners to identify areas of dysfunction or pain in the body. A disrupted rhythm, whether too fast, slow, or uneven, can indicate imbalance.
Fascia is a connective tissue that supports muscles, bones, nerves, and organs. When fascia becomes tight or restricted, it causes localized pain and can affect other areas due to its interconnected nature, much like a kink in a chain or a wrinkle in clothing.

How Can Light Touch Affect Pain and Tissue Health?
Craniosacral Therapy uses light touch to release fascia without pushing into deeper tissues. This light touch allows the fascia to "unwind," reducing tension and restoring balance to both local and global areas of pain. The therapy is also deeply relaxing, helping to calm the sympathetic nervous system, which can contribute to chronic pain and tightness.
