You have the right to ask to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your health care will cost if you are uninsured or choose to pay for your care yourself (self-pay).
If you schedule at least 3 business days in advance, you can ask to be provided a Good Faith Estimate.
Keep a copy of the estimate to compare with future bills.
If the bill is $400 or more above the GFE, you have the right to dispute the bill.
