Virtual Reality Vestibular Therapy in Coral Springs, FL

At FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Center Coral Springs, we use advanced virtual reality (optokinetic) goggles together with our Safety Overhead Support (SOS) system to retrain your balance safely. This approach helps your brain relearn how to handle moving visuals and busy environments—common triggers for vertigo, dizziness, and imbalance.

Why VR (Optokinetic) Goggles Work

Your balance relies on three systems working together: the inner ear (vestibular), vision, and body/feet (somatosensory). With vestibular problems, people often lean too much on vision or touch. Our program creates a controlled, therapeutic “mismatch”—for example, by showing safe moving visuals or standing on foam—to help your brain re-balance these systems and reduce dizziness over time.

Two Patient-Friendly Paths

1) Symptom-based: We use a simple 0–10 scale. When symptoms rise by about three points, we pause. Over visits, you’ll typically last longer before symptoms increase—clear progress we can measure.
2) Sign-based: When visible sway is the main issue, we watch your balance while you view gentle motion and hold seven head positions (up, down, left, right, etc.). We build from 5-count holds toward 15-count holds as stability improves.

What to Expect at FYZICAL Coral Springs

  • Start in a safe position (seated or supported standing with SOS harness).
  • View comfortable visual motion; we gradually increase difficulty.
  •  Practice gentle head positions and stances suited to your level.
  •  Short, focused sets with rest—quality over quantity.
  •  Clear tracking so you can see improvements visit by visit.
